Westside Auctioneers was established at Main Street, Leixlip in 1976. Leixlip was then a sleepy village on the Main Road (N4) West. Located some 10 miles west of Dublin, Irelands Capital City. Leixlip then had a population of a few thousand people, it is expected that the next census figures will show a population moving towards twenty thousand. Leixlip now boasts two of the worlds most successful hi-tech corporate companies - who in turn have generated further commercial activity in the supply chain locally.
Leixlip has now four hotels running with a further two under construction, and another in planning, several modern restaurants and a good supply of pubs. Education is well catered for with high quality modern 1st and 2nd level facilities, Maynooth University is just 4 miles west, and Dublin City 10 miles east has a vast choice.
Sporting facilities in Leixlip are modern and plentiful and has the distinct advantage of two rivers and a canal in the town. Leixlip's Salmon Leap Canoe Club has the honour of hosting the Canoeing Element of the Special Olympics 2003.
With easy access to the motorway, a good bus service, two commuter rail stations (and another one in the planning process), Leixlip has all the advantages of today's modern infrastructure.
